Christmas Cards & Wii Fit!

I tentatively and nervously made all my Christmas cards this year, I am so pleased with the response! Over half have sent me a personal thank you! I am stunned! It makes it all worthwhile doesn't it? One person has even asked if I will make some for them next year!?!?! Ahhh!
I have received quite a few beautiful handmade ones too, both hand delivered and posted, I am feeling one lucky lady today!

Oh and the Wii (thanks Santa!) and the Wii Fit (thanks Dad!) we got for a 'family' present this Christmas?!?! The BEST presents we have ever got! (Apart from the crafty bits of course and my Itouch ;) )
Every member of the family from the baby to my hubby can play together, its hilarious, fun and exhausting!

Box-Tastic! Tutorial.

I have been really enjoying Dawns tutorials :D Pausing as I go thru to have a bash at making stuff! Here is another cutey little box that I made, I have actually made two, but this was the first. This is just the right size for a small treat, lipstick, a couple of chocolates, that sort of thing and I will be using this a LOT in this future for those small gifts!Thank you Dawn and for your lovely email! Your tutorials are great! I am only about half way thru them so look forward to more treasures appearing ;)

Tutorials :D Post it Note & Pen Holder & Takeout Box

I was blurfing last night til 2.30am :-0 and came across Dawn. Oh My Word. What a wonderful woman. Uploads video tutorials all the time, I made this one Post it Note and Pen holder below, last night using THIS tutorial! Of course mine is awful for a first go but its a start! Dawns are just amazing, as is EVERYTHING she makes!!
I am gonna use patterned card stock and a simple image for my next one. I will be teaching my kids to make this today for themselves as my first one has been, erm, borrowed, by one! Lol!

Then I found Kristina had made this little 'takeout' box, below is the first one I have made using Berry Sweet Cardstock from KandCO and curling ribbon from Morrisons. This box has subsequently been stolen by a child, stuffed with chocolate and I have been told that that is her gift to Daddy! haha! bloomin' cheek......
My second box, a lovely golden one, was stolen by another child, stuffed with a Roary the Racing Car and claimed, bloomin cheek...
I then gave up making them for me and printed out the pdf pattern (found on Kristinas page) onto the reverse of lots of patterned cardstock and white card, where they proceeded get my stamps out and stamp all over the white card and then cut the template out, or go ahead and cut it straight out on the patterned card. Very creative! We now have a dalmation print one, a tiger one, beautiful flowers.......etc!! All made by kids that are 7, 11 and 12. The 4 year old is wandering around trying to steal them as they are finished off ;).
I am off now to have a go at more of Dawn and Kristina's tutorials! Where would we be without wonderful women such as these!
Later ladies :D, be good!

Christmas Layout

I took these pics a couple of weeks ago when we set up the tree, and had to scrap them!
The images are Peppermint Twist from KandCo, the red paper under Santa is Basic Grey and the cardstock and ribbon generic from my stash. The acetate I believe is also Basic Grey. The numbers are Papermania.
Thanks for looking!

Christmas Star

I came across this tutorial at Scrummy Stash Cafe tonight and had to have a go IMMEDIATELY! I love it so much I made 2! I used Anitas 6 x 6 Classic Christmas Red papers, generic ribbon and eyelets and a candy cane eyelet from Eyelet Outlet.

I used my Pink Big Bite for the eyelet setting.
On the red one I used staples to hold it together and the gold one, 2 tiny brads.
The gold star has been made to sparkle a little with Stickles.
Hope you like them! Its a little different to what I normally do! Pulled me out of my comfort zone a little :D

SCS Bloggroup 6 Challenge, a dragon and Happy Easter ?!?!?!

Please excuse me its late, I am tired and the light isn't what it could have been for these pictures!
The first one is for the 1st challenge of my new blog group, SCS Bloggroup 6. Linda has set the challenge here, for our group to try. I haven't stamped as I have no decent stamps in the required size, but I have used one of my stitched pictures instead. I used Laura Ashley papers and Papermania brads, on plain white card, a bit of burnt orange ribbon from my stash and plain generic cotton on the image. This image below is another from Stitching Cards, I haven't made it into a card yet, so its just the image at the moment. I know, I know, we haven't got past Christmas yet! But to be honest I needed a break from them!Rachel, my star of stage and screen, sat with me and made this dragon this afternoon, it will be for her boyfriend Joseph who will be away for his birthday just after Christmas so we are trying to get it all sorted before he goes! While sewing the cards, we sat listening to podcasts from my cousins son Elliot, and learning lots of interesting facts and having a giggle!

Ok its not packing ready for the big move back to the UK, promise we'll get back to that tomorrow ;o)

Had to share this photo!

This is my Rachel in another role that she is doing in the play Bugsy Malone, she plays Fizzy and sings 'Tomorrow Never Comes'.

The talent and adaptability of this child stuns me! She has such determination to acheive and be great at whatever she does. I really think she will go far. One week she was Brigita Von Trapp and now Fizzy, the roles couldn't be much different! Thanks to Sue Slater for the photo. And the chats recently, you are such a good friend and so incredibly funny, thank you x

Santa V. Crafty Me!

Saw this on Michelles Blog, who saw it on Ann's Blog, who saw it on SCS! Its like pass the parcel ;D. Thought I'd share too, ode to the crafty blogger!

Twas the night before Christmas, I was glued to the tree.
I was wondering what Santa had brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
Or a Cuttlebug, I thought, with a smile on my face.

And that's when I heard him..."Hi Santa," I said.
"You know, good little girls should be asleep in their beds."
"I know I should Santa, and now I've been caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought."

"Well, let's take a look in this room where you work."
He shook his head quickly, and then left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim, as he put it in gear.
"You've got enough crap, I'll see you next year!"

haha, this is soooooooooooooooooooooo what is gonna happen to me!!

Guess what?? Christmas cards!!! Stitching too - what a shocker!

Don't have an awful lot of time to post as you may have guessed! What with Christmas, kids Christmas and usual activities, packing, packing some more, making cards, getting ready for my baby's 4th (ahhh!!!!) birthday, buying pressies to get sent back to the UK, running round like an idiot etc.......... I just don't have the time, but for now, here are some recent cards :D Just got time to post these before my new bed gets delivered and I get on with the dishes! The tags are either Morrisons own or from Phoenix cards. Other bits and pieces are K&Co, ribbon, papermania etc.

Still loving the stitching :D
We have a demo morning at Kings Chapel, here in Gib tomorrow '5 Second Christmas Decorations' - should be fun!
And I have never been so busy with the Craft Club, so many new people and some not so new who have decided to join us now as they have heard what a friendly, supportive and crafty group we are! Word of mouth is working wonders and I have just had yet another call from another lady who heard our radio advert on BFBS! Leaflets in wonderful Debbie's 'Decorative Crafts' shop on her Subway day netted us several newbies as well! I have no idea where to put them all! Seriously tho, its wonderful and a fab learning experience as each new person brings a talent with them, or a desire to learn and participate. AND everyone is so nice to each other! I am so happy :D!
Enjoy!

Busy evening at Craft Club tonight!

We had allsorts going on, card making, card stitching, jewellery making and beading, and fimo nativity figures!
And we had a full house! Great to see Jo, our community police lady has joined us again after last weeks demo night, with friend Leanne, wonderful to see Louise back again with her friend and another new lady Alison as well as a few regulars and returning newbies!
Here are a few of the 'different' things that went on tonight!
These are made by Louise, one of our newer ladies, fast becoming a regular, the father christmas head, christmas tree and angel are what we are making in our demo night next week! I am so excited to be learning new things again!
These fimo nativity figures by Louises friend (sorry forgot your name again - I have a brain like a sieve! Let me know again!) are just delightful and we are looking forward to a future demo on that too!
Walking on air today! With a thriving and happy craft club, learning amazing new skills from very talented women and a wonderful posting (can't believe how lucky we are!).

Please spare a moment

We have had some awfully sad news, a friend of my husbands for around 30 years, was in a vehicle last week in Afghanistan that went over a landmine, you may have seen it in the news if you are UK based, 2 marines were killed outright and an Afghan Soldier, with 1 (hubby's childhood friend) being very severely injured. Please spare a thought, prayer, love - what ever is your way, from your heart to wish him a speedy recovery and love to the 3 other families involved. We still don't know the extent of the injuries and daily wait for news.
This is what Help the Heroes is all about.

Thank you.

Range of cards I have remembered to photograph lately!

I am getting quite into the stitching after a demo we had at Craft Club the other evening (what a SUPERB turn out for that! Loads of new faces again!) and have a couple more cards I have made which I will pop on here soon. Designs are from Stitching Cards - some free downloads!

We have had a Hive demo morning and a Card Stitching Demo evening and in a week and a bit we have a Christmas Card beading demo! So busy busy busy! Coming up we also have a Christmas Decoration making morning for the Kings Chapel (which can be seen here alongside lots of other Gib type pics), here in Gib and also the nursery Christmas fayre! Phew!

The Hills are Alive!!!

I am in awe of the wonderfulness that are my children! This pic is when they first appear marching on stage in their Sound of Music stage production. The 2 girls are mine, the boy in the middle I have smudged his face as I would need to ask permission for his face to be shown on a blog. I had centre front row seat!! The Governer of Gibraltar and the Minister of Culture have requested that they run an extra night as it is sold out and so many people still want to see it! They have had rave reviews and have been in all the local mags and papers. I am so proud :D
Their Stagecoach school went to watch on Tuesday to see 3 of their pupils in a full stage production (the little girl who played Gretel is also a pupil).
They have worked so hard for so long, giving up their outside activities (apart from Stagecoach) and it was just perfect.
I could go on, but I think you get it now!

Opening Night!

The girls had their opening night last night of the Sound of Music and by all accounts it was a resounding success, with standing ovations! We have heard nothing but good things - we cannot wait to go see it, we have front row seats for Thursday and are soooooooo excited!!

Whilst they were being stars of the stage, I went to darts and we won 9-0!! Woweeee!! Good night all round!

Yesterday in the day we had Debbie at Decorative Crafts here in Irish Towns 'Subway' Craft day, so lots of goodies made and bought there too lol. Can't wait to try out my 'Glitter Flocking Powder' on my next Christmas cards! Chose and bought a few extra bits to put aside for my birthday in a couple of weeks (I will act surprised I promise!!).

Hope all in well in your world and happy voting USA!

Tagtastic!

OK, don't normally do info tagging but I loved Tinks from Liza, so I have to put 7 random facts about me, hmmmmm...

1. I have amazingly talented children, they get it from their amazingly talented father! 2 eldest are in a massive production of the Sound of Music, 1 was head hunted to be in it and the other chosen and invited to a 'closed' audition from which she won the part.

2. I don't do cockroaches, bleurrrrrr!

3. When I win the lottery I will open a nice big craft shop in Australia and have make and takes, crops etc and spend all day, everyday there! Porbably covered in glitter glue if the truth were known!

4. I am a US tv addict, Greys Anatomy, Battlestar Galactica, House, Heroes, Desperate Housewives, The Fringe, True Blood, Terminator TSCC, Pushing Daisies, Californication, Supernatural........

5. I am a fully warranted Girlguiding UK leader for the Brownies and Rainbows Sections. I am qualified to run and be in charge of both sections.

6. I don't and won't lie.

7. I am a Gold Blend (Tasters Choice) coffee, Pepsi Max and dark chocolate (specifically Lindts Coffee Intense) addict.

I pass this on to............ don't know, choices, choices! Pop back to find out as I don't have time to finish this off now, lol!

Chrimble Cards and birthdays!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CELIA!!!!!
21 years young again, hope you have had a fantabulous day!

Here are a few more Christmas cards made recently!
These cards have used Peppermint Twist Die Cut Cardstock from K and Company, christmas pics from Pink Petticoat, ribbons, pearlescent card and Christmas reds cards, papers from Paper Adventures and Dovecraft Christmas Blues, eyelets (used with Big Bite), snowflake brads, snowflake punch, glitter glue, stickles, cuttlebug snowflake embossing on generic card, other card and foil cards from my stash.

I have also finished Annettes 40th Birthday card, and am very pleased with it! Of course I cannot post it yet cos its not her birthday for another month but its ready to go, lol.

We are enjoying having hubby back home sooo much (Big Grin!) and he seems to be not too adversely affected by his experience, thank goodness.
Also, we are now in the final countdown for the Sound of Music Production that my 2 eldest girls are in, they go on stage on 3rd Nov for 6 performances and also that week my brother in law and his family are visiting. We have front row seats for the Thursday night and we cannot wait!

Thursday mornings and Tuesday nights are working out fabulously with the Craft Club, especially Thursday mornings, its great to see people there! We have two great demonstration nights planned before Christmas, Christmas card stitching and Christmas Card beading of Santas, quite intricate but cannot wait! Also have reorganised the management - Sarah M. is now secretary (she stepped in last meeting and did such a great job!), Sue S is treasurer (using all those wonderful skills she has!) and Martine (cos she is fab and will undoubtedly continue to take it on to bigger and better things) will be taking on my role when I go! Just a few months now, so its all in place ready, less to worry about when its comes to moving, knowing its all in fab and capable hands!
